A simple, low-cost project management app for small teams and startups, with tasks, projects and real-time Google Calendar sync. We build it with a partner; it is live at planline.com, with a free and a paid plan.

01 · Business context

The problem

Many project management tools are rich in features but expensive, and small teams and startups often find them too complex.

The goal was a cheaper, easier alternative for web and mobile users: the essential features, without a steep learning curve or a high monthly fee.

Planline is a partnership. The idea came from a Polish entrepreneur who wanted a simple, affordable project management tool for small teams.

Geeknauts is the technology partner: we build the app and develop it further together with the partner.

02 · Key features

What we built

A web app with its back end, which also runs on phones as a progressive web app. These are its most important features.

  • Google Calendar sync

    Events and tasks stay in step with Google Calendar in real time, over web sockets.

  • Tasks and recurring events

    Detailed task settings, reminders, and recurring tasks and events.

  • Projects and organisations

    Users set up their organisation, create projects with tasks, invite people, and manage groups and permissions.

  • Views, filters and notifications

    Several task views, tags and filters, and alerts that follow each user's preferences and task priorities.
