Mission 13 · E-commerce

E-commerce integrations: Marketplace connectors and order tracking for xSale

Services that keep Futuriti's xSale in step with the Empik, Erli and Decathlon marketplaces, an app that brings xSale into the Shoper platform, two data links, and the page where buyers follow their orders. The work began with that tracking page in March 2021.

01 · Business context

The problem

Companies that sell on several marketplaces and in their own online shop want their orders and stock in one place.

A system like xSale can only show the channels it is connected to, and every new channel needs its own connector, built on that platform's API.

In 2021 Futuriti wanted xSale to work with Empik and Erli, two Polish online marketplaces, and with Shoper, a Polish platform that runs online shops. It also wanted a simple page where a seller's customers could check their order, built on the data xSale already holds.

The client

Futuriti

Futuriti owns xSale, an e-commerce tool that connects online shops, marketplaces, and warehouse and accounting systems, and automates sales work.

We met Futuriti in March 2021, when we answered its brief for a small order-tracking page. The integrations followed, and from July 2021 we also rebuilt the xSale panel (see the xSale case study).

02 · Key features

What we built

Back-end services in Node.js, an app inside Shoper and a web page for buyers. Teams of one to three developers built each part, and one back-end developer led the integrations. These are the main pieces.

  • Marketplace connectors

Services sync orders both ways between xSale and the Empik and Erli marketplaces on a schedule, with stock levels; in 2022 we extended them to Decathlon. They log to Futuriti's own RabbitMQ.

  • xSale inside Shoper

An app that runs inside the Shoper platform: a shop owner sets up an xSale account from it, and our back end creates the account through the xSale API.

  • Data links for two companies

One service loads a wholesale group's product data into xSale on a schedule. Another keeps stock levels in step between two xSale accounts of one company.

  • Order tracking for buyers

A page at tracking.xsale.ai shows a buyer the order, payment, carrier, recipient, items and a map, whatever the carrier.

xSale's order-tracking page on a phone, in Polish: the buyer types in the order code.

What changed

The tracking page went live in April 2021, after about a month, and opened years of work with Futuriti.

Key achievements

  • The tracking page went live in April 2021 after about a month, and led to the rebuild of the xSale panel.
  • By February 2022 the Shoper app, the Empik and Erli connectors, both data links and the tracking page were done; the Decathlon connector followed by May 2022.
  • In 2023 Empik, Erli and Shoper were on xSale's list of integrations.
  • Futuriti referred other xSale users who needed integrations to us, and an integration with PCMarket followed in 2024.
